A follow-up course for graduates of Essential Coaching Skills 1.0
Frontline professionals do some of the most emotionally demanding work in our communities—walking alongside individuals and families navigating poverty, crisis, transition, and systemic barriers. Essential Coaching Skills 2.0 is the advanced training designed to strengthen and support you, the people doing this work with heart, skill, and commitment.
This dynamic, two-session training (3 hours each) takes everything you learned in Essential Coaching Skills 1.0 and elevates it. ESS 2.0 deepens your coaching presence, sharpens your ability to “coach the person, not just the problem,” and equips you with next-level tools rooted in neuroscience, solution-focused practices, and mindful grounding.
To ensure high-touch learning and individualized growth, this advanced course is limited to 16 participants.
Each participant is paired with an ICF-backed Empower coach for two live coaching sessions during the training, offering personalized feedback, reflection, and support that accelerates skill development.
You’ll learn how to recognize where real change is happening—at the levels of values, beliefs, identity, and capability—and how to guide conversations that create possibility, momentum, and confidence. And through hands-on coaching labs with feedback from your dedicated coach, you’ll refine your presence and techniques in real time.
In ECS 2.0, You Will Learn How To…
- Coach at deeper levels of change using Robert Dilts’s Neurological Levels model (environment → behavior → skills → beliefs → identity → purpose).
- Interrupt limiting patterns and help clients move toward clarity, confidence, and future-focused action.
- Strengthen your Solution-Focused stance through powerful questions that illuminate strengths, exceptions, and next steps.
- Use mindfulness and grounding tools (with Theo!) to regulate your own nervous system and help others find calm in moments of activation.
- Engage in two individualized coaching sessions with an ICF-backed Empower coach who will offer real-time guidance, refinement, and tailored support.
- Integrate coaching into your everyday work—whether you manage teams, support job seekers, guide housing participants, or work directly with clients navigating complex needs.
